Jack is faced with the evil for a showdown onto the death. If Jack looses, everyone she cares for looses. The fight is on.

CHAPTER SEVEN THE BATTLE TO THE DEATH BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL

"Fine," and a blast of evil hit her full force. She was knocked on her
butt and she felt as if her breath had been stolen from her.

"No," she sobbed and stood up painfully. Every bone ached and her head
spun but she did not loose her focus. God was on her side and nothing
could defeat her now.

"I will destroy you in the name of Jesus Christ," she took a staggering
step forward. She almost toppled over but she regained her balance in
time. She opened her arms and a white light moved over everything.

There was a groan of agony and then the light flashed momentarily then
vanished.

"That was the best you could do?" the voice choked out. She was again
thrown to the ground and her head bounced off a solid pine tree.

"Ohh," she groaned and closed her eyes. She couldn't get up, the pain
was unbearable. How could God expect a mortal teenager girl to defeat
the evil that was attempting to exterminate her?

"Get up!" a voice inside of her ordered. She opened her eyes and winced
from the glare of the snow but she struggled to her feet. She mustn't
give up for it would mean the death of so many innocent people.
Including her Nick and David!

"That was the best you could do?" she weakly taunted back. She opened
her arms and another white flash basked everything in sheer goodness.
She felt God with her and in that instance knew that she would die very
soon but God would aid her with anything that she asked in the
meantime. There was a sharp shriek and she felt as if she were being
stabbed all over her body by tiny needles. She swallowed back the cry
that threatened to pour out of her body.

"Oh Lord, give me the strength," she sobbed as she spun around looking
for relief. She could hear the frightening laughter of the evil being
and she sought to bring about it's destruction but she knew that she
could do no such thing on her own.

She spun around, her face a mask of pure, unabashed hatred, "They have
tracked me, they now surround me, their eyes alert, to throw me to the
ground. They are like a lion hungry for prey, a great lion crouching
in cover. Oh Lord, confront them, bring them down. Rescue me from the
wicked by your sword.  Oh Lord, by your hand, save me from such men;
from men of this world, whose reward is only in this life. You still
the hunger of those you cherish, their sons have plenty, and they store
wealth for their children. And I- in righteousness, I will see your
face. When I awake, I will be satisfied by seeing your likeness.
Psalms 17:11-15. Don't mess with God for he protects his children from
the scum of hell such as yourself." The evil being knew that it was
going to die for her words were like fire in it's soul and it could
feel the flames devouring it eternally. She had no idea where the
verse had came from but it had seemed like the perfect thing to say.

"No, I do not wish to go back," it roared and threw one more last swing
at Jack. It hit her and forced her to her knees but her eyes were
filled with an unearthly rage and she would not go down. She rose
haughtingly and lifted her arms to the heavens with a smile of triumph
on her lips.

"Die, may you go back down to hell by God's command," she spat and a
great chasm opened like a rip in the crust of a pie.

"No," the demon wailed and smoke tendrils gripped the evil entity and
sucked it back down to it's hellish abode. Screams and wails of pain
reached up from the depths and fire blazed up. A roar followed the
shocking noise and sights then a sucking noise forced the chasm shut
and all was silent.

"Thank you Lord," Jack sighed as she felt all of her strength leave her.
She collapsed into the snow and her entire body hurt. She looked up
towards the now clear, blue sky and smiled. She had completed her task
and ensured her true loves a future.
