In everyone's life there is a time to look deep inside to see what we're made of. We call it coming of age. | |||
Coming of Age I'm so safe inside myself. Locked behind a secure wall of misery. Trapped by life's demands. I'm content to feel nothing and be numb. Satisfied to hide from the eyes which always saw. Withdrawn from the overwhelming pain your leaving has caused. Paranoid about living life without you. Terrified to face another second with no words of love. Jealous of your ability to move on without looking back. Dreading the next step with no hand in mine. Lonely for the other half of myself. Insecure thoughts of my importance and value. Desperate to hear your voice in my ear. ~ I branch out to find a new path. Something awakens inside of me. Life goes on. Click here to read the rest of this story (119 more lines)
