In everyone's life there is a time to look deep inside to see what we're made of. We call it coming of age. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story Dependence becomes independence. ~ I don't have to feel abandoned. I've found myself. I don't have to feel isolated. I can be my own best friend. I don't have to feel rejected. I accept my flaws and faults. I'm not undesirable. I'll want myself. I don't have to feel exhausted. I'm the wind beneath my own wings. ~ If I'm misunderstood it's because I wasn't brave enough to stand up for my beliefs. If I get discouraged I'll look around to see the beauty the world offers. If I feel empty I'll recount all the little miracles in my life. If I start feeling worthless I'll find value in my own words. If I start to get bored I'll recall the laughter of life. If I start to feel unloved I'll become love struck by the greatest love of all. If I start to feel alone I'll remember I'm one of many. If I start to feel afraid I'll remind myself there's a higher power at work. If I get vengeful I'll realize it's not my place to judge. If I get depressed I'll ask to be wrapped in God's arms. If I get dependent I'll lean on Christ's rock. ~ For through it all I'm not kept alive by the love you tossed aside. But by God's grace and mercy. © February 4, 2008 by Lori Tweet
