Another by Chris and I. This is about meeting someone and knowing there is an instant spark of friendship.

Friends From the Start

~

Standing at the gate

and

waiting for the whistle

~

Heart

is in a state of constant

Palpitation

~

We catch each other's eye,

wonder what could happen,

if we met under

a clear blue sky.

~

You ask for my name.

I ask the same.

We find ourselves lost

in confusion,

and speculate why

our paths crossed.

~

No time to waste

as the race has now begun!

Knowing what's important

is if the race is won.

~

The competition's fierce

Yet, we're in a state of

calm.

~

Let friendship be our balm.

Chums to fool around with,

let's prove this isn't

a myth.

~

We may end up as lovers

before this is over.
