It is about a woman who seeks justice on those who committed crimes against her anonymously through personal ads. | |||
Personal Ad Murders Randy was looking for someone special to share his life and doesn't care for the bar scene so he started looking in the personal ads to find her. He's looking for a woman in her late twenties to early thirties, stands about five feet six inches with blonde or brown hair with blue eyes. He saw the ad in the Sunday newspaper and thought it was the perfect one for him. The ad read, "Woman in her thirties with blonde hair and blue eyes. Enjoys quiet evenings at home curled up to a cozy fire watching old movies. She enjoys motorcycle rides and long road trips. Enjoys hiking, biking, and camping, will try anything once." Thinking she might be someone of interest, he answered the ad with a letter and enclosed a picture addressing it to "Adventurous Soul" with the post office box that accompanies the ads. In the letter, he said his name was Randy and described himself as an easy person to get to know. He finished the letter with his phone number. While at Sports USA, Randy's best friend Mac greeted him. "Hey Randy, what's up?" "Not much. I'm watching game two of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals. The Red Sox are up one game," Randy said. "Are you meeting anyone?" Mac asked. "No. Go ahead and pull up a chair." As they watched the game, they talked about the four murder cases that they were working. Each victim was in his late twenties or early thirties with brown to black hair and stood about six feet tall weighing about 160- to 180-pounds. "Yea, c'mon Walker, hit it out the ballpark," Randy said, diverting his attention to the game. Randy and Mac finished watching the game in silence until the Cardinals lost to the Red Sox giving them a two game lead in the series. After the game, they walked to their cars saying they will see each other the following day. When Randy arrived home, he saw he had three messages on his machine. Pushing the play button a voice said, "Hello, Randy. This is Laura. I received your photo today and wanted to call. You sound like someone I'd like to meet. You can call me at 555-2182. I look forward to hearing from you." The machine went to the next message, which was from Mac saying he will meet him at the bar. The third message was from an unfamiliar person. The voice said, "Hello. This is Debbie. I saw your photo and liked what I saw. I'll see you around." Before sitting in front of his computer to finish playing a strategic military game, Randy went to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee. Thinking the call from Debbie was a wrong number; he decided not to worry about it. The next day at work, Mac met Randy in the hall saying they found another body. "Yes I know. I'm on my way to the scene," Randy said as they walked out. At the crime scene, the body was a male in his late twenties to early thirties. He stood about six feet with dark brown hair, weighed about 175-pounds. He was lying on his stomach with one arm and the opposing leg stretched out, while the elbow of the other arm was bent and positioned close to the body. The knee of the remaining leg was cocked. There were leaves gathered around the body. It looked as if someone tried to cover it up. The coroner was on the scene examining the physical aspects of the body. "What do we have? Do you know the approximate time of death? How long would you say he has been here?" Mac the lead homicide detective asked. Click here to read the rest of this story (203 more lines)
