Shiver - Pt.Two Freya G His broken heart battered and bruised, the only person Chris could ever talk to was his mother. So he took a leave from work and visited his family. 'She hates me now. She won't take my calls. She rejected my e-mails' he said as he was sitting in the porch with Mrs. Warren. 'I don't think so. She's a very nice girl. You are her best friend ever since you both started to have acne. Maybe she's frightened on the idea that she'll lose you as a friend' Mrs. Warren tried to provide a possibility. 'I know, Ma. It was my fault. I should've not pushed it too far' 'I think you should talk to her' 'She doesn't want to talk to me' 'Try your best, son' Mrs. Warren tapped on his shoulder gently. Chris decided to give it another go. He made a long detour and came straight to Claire apartment before going all the way back to L.A. again. It didn't work. She shut the door tight and won't open it. He knew she was inside although she didn't say anything and make any sound. 'Please. We need to talk about this' he said to the door. He knew Claire was behind it. He knew Claire could hear him perfectly well. 'Claire, we have to talk about it. Don't go and run away. Look, even if it didn't worked, you won't lose me as a friend. I will always be your friend. Claire, please talk to me' Chris thought he heard something moved inside. 'Claire, please! You can't run away from this forever!' Suddenly the door was opened. Claire stood in front of him, her face wet with tears. 'Please don't do this' she whispered. She looked as if she might crumble apart in any seconds. 'Please don't do this to me. I can't. I can't give you what you want' she sobbed. Chris pulled out a pen and a piece of paper. He wrote something on it. The song that had been playing on his head all the way to her place. Claire was still sobbing. He handed the paper to her. 'I really don't want to make you cry like this' She took the paper. Her cry subdued. 'I'll see you around, Claire' he said before he turned away and leave. Claire read what he wrote in the paper. Her tears fell on the paper, made the writings all blurred, but she had read it. She remembered the words. Now I never meant, To do you wrong, That's what I came here to say. But if I was wrong, Then I'm sorry, And don't let it stand in our way. My head just aches, When I think of, The things that I shouldn't have done. But, life is for living, We all know, And I don't wanna live it alone.
