Alyssa and Faith make it back to camp and realize that in order to survive, they must take control and grow up. The camp becomes the epicenter for the plans to get supplies. Only a small group of campers have returned and Ben is still missing.

CHAPTER TEN RETURNING TO CAMP, HOME SWEET HOME

The next day, Alyssa and Faith caught all six of their cats and pushed
them in the metal cage. They yowled and cried out their misery but
there was no way that the sisters were letting them out. They picked
up the cage and pushed it into the suburban. They put Godzilla in the
cat cage and put him on the floor in front of the front, passenger
seat. They then shoved all the dogs into the row behind the front two
seats.

Alyssa hooked the trailer up to the suburban and they were on their way.
Alyssa didn't keep track of how many stores and gas stations they
attacked but by the time they were done, there was no room to move and
all the gas containers and the suburban were filled. She had taken dog
food, cat food, lizard food, human food, clothes for her and Faith,
materials to make more clothes, thread and needles, candles,
flashlights, batteries, matches, wood for fences, wire meshing, paint,
seeds, more seeds, garden tools, all sorts of medicine, body care
products, more seeds, blankets, pillows, a couple more gas cans,
several more animals that were deserted and going to die, and different
varieties of useful plants, fruit trees, rose bushes, hibiscus plants,
and grapevines. They were now on their way to camp.

"So, you love this Ben guy?" Faith wanted to know.

"With all my heart. I mean, I've just lately had a crush on him but
that was because I realized he was special. We've been friends for the
longest of times. Then yesterday, when all the adults vanished, it
threw us together and we realized that we loved each other, so, when he
dropped me off yesterday, he asked me to marry him whenever it was
possible. I said yes, and I miss him so much. I can hardly wait to
see him. Oh yeah, he has a younger brother, Kellin, and he's seventeen
if you're ever interested," Alyssa offered.

"Okay, gross. He's four years older than me just like you and you know
I'm still not interested in boys. I mean, I don't mind them as much
now but I don't care to like them in that way yet," Faith replied.

"That's my little sister," Alyssa laughed. Faith had never liked guys
and in elementary school had always beat them up violently and that was
who she was. But lately, she had become close friends with many of the
opposite sex though she claimed that she still did not have interest in
them. Alyssa believed her completely. She wondered suddenly, how
would she and Ben get married without a preacher of any kind?

It was late at night, about eleven thirty when she pulled into camp.
She was startled by how few of cars were there. Only ten of the fifty
or so were back and she thought that was sad but better for their
survival. They first led all the dogs by leash to Alyssa's cabin and
tied them to the post. They then carried the cat and Godzilla cage
into the cabin.

"Could you start to unload? I want to see if Ben's back yet?" Alyssa
asked, her eyes begging her younger sister to agree.

"Go find your lover boy," Faith teased and Alyssa practically took off
at a run. She ran to his cabin and pounded on the door.

Kellin answered and looked at her with supprize, "What are you doing
here?"

"I'm looking for Ben. Is he here? I know I could have looked in the
parking lot for his car but it's kind of dark," she was looking for him
in the cabin but it looked as if only Kellin and Bryan were there.

"He hasn't came back yet. Sorry, now can I go back to sleep?" he
inquired.

"Yeah," she sighed in disappointment. She wondered where Ben was and
she left to go help Faith get their stuff inside their cabin. Just
then Brenda and Tyson walked out.

"You came back," Alyssa sounded astonished.

"Yeah, we figured that we could live up here, it's nicer than down there
