A Miracle on Collins Avenue Subba Rao “Juggernaut was taking a stroll on Collins Avenue in North Miami Beach; the Sun was slowly setting and the breeze was cold, it can get cold in Miami in January, thought Juggernaut, then suddenly he heard a voice shouting his name “Hey Juggernaut, is it you,” Juggernaut looked back to see a middle aged man with a long beard running towards him. “Remember me, I was in your che mistry lab back in Trinidad,” the man was really excited. Juggernaut stepped back to look at this person and trying to recognize him. “It is me, Paramhams,” the man stood right in front of Juggernaut. Juggernaut took a long look at the man while quickly going through his own memory lane to recognize Paramhams from his graduate days working as a teaching assistant in Chemistry lab almost four decades ago. “Yeah, man I recognize you, you changed a lot,” said Juggernaut with his mind still sifting through his old memories. “Sure, so were you; remember me, I am from Belize came to the University in Trinidad in 1973 as an undergraduate.” “Certainly, how can I forget you with your unique name, I met nobody with that name again.” “Sure, I remember your comments on my name, you said most likely I was named after some famous Hindu Mystic from India,” Paramhams appeared to have remembered a long explanation Juggernaut gave on the Hindu Mystic Ramakrishna Paramahamsa died in 1886.” “Do you live in Miami?” asked Paramhams. “No, I am just visiting on a vacation to get away from the cold,” “How about you?” “I still live in Belize working for the Department of Agriculture, I came here for shopping as you know people from the Latin America and the Caribbean come here to shop, things are much cheaper down here than back home.” “Sure that's what I did when I lived in the Caribbean,” Juggernaut was very pleased to meet Paramhams. “So, how you like down here?” “I like Miami, here I feel comfortable among my brethren from the Caribbean and more importantly I can get various foods from the Click here to read the rest of this story (45 more lines)
