See if Connor finds Allison and the reprocussions! | |||
9. Great Escape Connor was frantic during the drive over to WFTR, when he arrived, Doug and Roz were frantically searching along with the rest of the crew. Connor spotted Doug going into Allison's office. “have you searched there yet?” Connor asked breathlessly rushing up to him. “Yeah, I searched, but I didn't find this!” he said pointing to Allison's purse and cell phone. The tiny room had been ransacked, drawers were dumped, and Allie's desk was a mess. Connor surveyed the damage, taking stock of it. This was ominous, whoever ransacked Allie's office, was clearly searching for something. “There's been some sort of a struggle.” Connor blurted. “She'd never leave her purse and cell behind.” “What's your theory? I didn't hear any strange noises when I last saw Allison.” “I think she's kidnapped!” Connor said as fear gripped his heart. “She wouldn't just walk away, Doug! I know it! Allison? Are you here, sweetheart?” Connor searched the entire building, but turned up nothing. He called the forensics team and asked them to dust for finger prints. “What's this called anyway?” Tom Bradley head of the forensics team inquired. “I mean, it's not a missing persons case yet.”” It's a kidnapping, Tommy!” Connor snapped bitterly. “Allison's missing and there's nothing I can do!” he thought of the ominous warnings Allie had been receiving, could the caller have carried out their diabolical plan? Allison awoke to a dark damp room. She opened her eyes and looked around. Where was she? What was this place? She tried to loosen the ropes, but it was no use, and with the gag tightly in place, she couldn't scream. She could hear people searching for her, but she couldn't answer. “Allison? Where are you, honey?” Connor thought it was a dead end, but he decided to look in the storage closet. He had police canvassing the area, but this was the only place they hadn't searched. “I have a key right here.” Doug said when he noticed Connor eyeing the closet. “I doubt she's in there, but we may as well ...” Doug paused, he thought he heard something. “Did you hear that?” “Yeah, it sounded like a box of some sort.” Connor said, they listened intently and heard the noise again. “Allison?” Connor shouted as he keyed into the closet. He flung the door open and found her. She was lying on the floor bound and gagged. Tears sprang to Connor's eyes as he scooped her up. “Allison! Oh my God! Are you hurt?” he carried her into Doug's office and laid her on the couch. Then ever so gently, he removed the ropes and the gag. Allison took in the precious oxygen as Connor threw a barrage of questions at her. “Allie! I'm so glad you're all right! You're not hurt are you? When did this happen? Is the baby all right? Did you see the guy?” Allison breathed more deeply and looked at her husband. “It happened about half an hour ago, I was getting ready to do the news, and Trent grabbed me from behind. He told me that I needed to go nice and quietly, and that I shouldn't scream. He bound and gagged me and stuffed me in the storage closet. Then he ransacked my office.” “Are you hurt?” Connor asked concerned. He knelt beside her and took her hand. “No, the baby and I are fine. I'm just shaken up that's all. I guess I was out for a while, I think the gag did that.” “You lost consciousness? Are you sure you're okay?” Connor inquired again looking at her worriedly. “I'm fine, my love. I'm just happy to be out of that closet! But I'm telling you it was Trent!” “Allie, I think the stress has gotten to you, sweetness. I think we need to go home, and you need to have a nice relaxing evening. Trent's one of our best, he wouldn't ...” “I'm telling you it was Trent! I swear it! He put his arms around me and grabbed me from behind and ...” he kissed her lightly, she returned his affection and they soon discovered they couldn't stop. Doug walked in and loudly cleared his throat. “Sorry, Doug.” Allison said apologetically. Are you all right?” “Yes, I'm fine.” “Are you sure? We're all worried about you.” “I'm fine, and so is the baby.” “Forensics is dusting for prints in your office. It's pretty bad in there. You can use mine until we fix it up.” “Thanks, Doug.” “You get some rest, Allison. You had a tough day.” She nodded and watched as he exited the room. During the drive home, Allison told her harrowing tale to Connor. He still refused to believe it was Trent. She was infuriated and glared at him. He knew she was angry with him, he could see it in her eyes. But he truly believed that Trent was an excellent policeman. They pulled into the driveway as Allison continued her story. “I'm telling you it was Trent! Who are you going to believe Trent or me? I wouldn't lie to you, my love! We had this same problem about Chad.” “What the hell are Click here to read the rest of this story (561 more lines)
