A simple phone call has JC facing his past and having to fianlly deal with heartbreak.

A phone begins to ring and is heard echoing through the large house. JC
walks slowly from the sink in his kitchen to answer it. 

"Hello?" There was a long pause, but JC could hear someone breathing. 

"Hi," the caller announced nervously. 

JC automatically recognized the voice on the other end of the line. 

"Hi." JC responded with little enthusiasm for who the caller was. 

"How are you?" 

"I'm doing OK.....How are you?" JC answered trying not to let his
emotions show. 

"I'm doing very well. It's been so long since we've talked, JC." 

"Yes...Yes it has, Miranda." 

"I know you're probably wondering why I am calling you after all this
time." 

JC paused. "To be honest with you...I was wondering why you were
calling, Miranda." 

"Well I'm in town for the week and I ran into Justin at the club and I
wanted to see how you were. He told me I would have to find out for 
myself." Miranda said jokingly about her encounter with her old friend. 


"You're in town?" JC asked. 

"Yes...I came down with Mike to meet his parents finally." JC cringed
when he heard Mike's name uttered from her lips. 

"Is that the same Mike I caught you in bed with so long ago?" 

Miranda sighed, "JC, please. Let's not get into that. It happened so
long ago and I did everything I could to get you to forgive me." 

JC rolled his eyes and took the phone away from his ear and looked at it
in shock. He then brought the phone back to his ear. 

"JC, I didn't mean for it to happen, but it did. And I can't go back and
change it...no matter how much I want to. I want to apologize for 
leaving so soon after it happened too." 

"So you are finally meeting his parents? It must be serious." JC asked
trying to sound the least bit interested. 

"Well I guess you could say that it is on its way to serious..." 

"That's great to hear," JC said sarcastically. "So where are you staying
while your in town?" 

"The Radisson" 

"Oh. Why not with Mike? 

"There isn't enough room at his parents house, so I thought it would be
better if I just got a room here." 

"Oh. You could have stayed with Justin or any one of the guys. You and
they are very close." 

"I know, but I didn't want to chance....bumping into you...I didn't know
how you would react to me being here." 

"I'm fine Miranda. It's been 7 months now. You didn't bring me to the
point where they have me on suicide watch, Hun." JC laughed. 

"I'm sorry. It was dumb of me to think anything like that." 

"So what was the real reason behind you calling, Miranda? I know it
