One kid realizes that his generation is being run by a pop culture lifestyle. This is his journal. (Updated Almost Daily) Comments Welcome! | |||
Wednesday, September 20, 2000 “I've been trying to figure something in my head, and maybe you can help me out, yeah? When a person is insane, as you clearly are, do you know that you're insane? Maybe you're just sitting around, reading ‘Guns and Ammo’, masturbating in your own feces, do you just stop and go, ‘Wow! It is amazing how fucking crazy I really am!’ Yeah? Do you guys do that?” Detective David Mills, Se7en When I said our generation was doomed. I meant it. You can’t stop it. Too many of us have already set our feet in the ground and said, ‘I’m going to listen to what MTV tells me to do,’ or other mindless things. Too many of us have seen the stupidest, most mind-numbing garbage on the planet. And liked it. Our generation is being raised by a culture of select music groups and movie stars. I asked a friend of mine if she would rather think during a movie or see some pointless film with loud music and big teen stars. She chose the latter. So I got up and did my little routine. And when I got to school, I realized that there aren’t many people that can help us. In our generation, there are several people hovering outside of it. That includes me. We are the only people, the only outcasts that realize the truth. Our generation is sheep. And our sheepherders are the music and movie industries. They tell us how to dress, how to talk, and how to act. The music tells us to be cruel to women, acting as if they were just toys. The movies tell us that fighting is the answer, and that once again, women are playthings. But women are not playthings. They are human beings. Even though, they too, are being told what to do by the movie and music industries. I’m not saying, burn Hollywood; I’m not saying to burn music stores. As a matter of fact, I don’t really have point. I’m just saying what I think is true. I think that only outcasts, people who hate the pop industry, can save us. And even then, there is a slim chance of that. Tweet
