What becomes to the camp and its' survivors of the fog that lifted everyone over twenty-six and over away. Perhaps the remainders survived to create a new society, or fell away into chaos that comes with such a dramatic disaster.

CHAPTER TWELVE WHAT'S LEFT

Alyssa sat on the porch, her arm around Ben's waist and her head upon
his shoulder. She watched her grandchildren, Suzie and Alex chase the
dogs around their fenced yard. She could hear her daughter, Machelle,
in the kitchen, making dinner. Her son, Mark, was taking care of his
baby daughter, Lucinda. His wife, Elizabeth, Brenda's and Tyson's
first daughter, was laughing at his attempts to silent her cries.
Roger, Beverly's and Joey's son (Joey was a doctor who had came home
with Ben), also Machelle's husband, stood at the barbecue cooking
teriyaki chicken.

She saw that it was all good and snuggled closer to her husband. Cabins
dotted the mountainside and the laughter of children could be heard
everywhere. The different smells of people cooking rose on the cool
evening air and the bubbling river could be heard. Faith strode over,
streaks of gray in her brown hair and she kissed her sister's wrinkling
cheek.

"Family barbecue, wait a moment, why wasn't I invited?" she joked as she
was having her own family barbecue. The smell of the sauce made Alyssa
have a flashback of her mother cooking on the grill, complaining about
the porch light being broken. Her father would come home from work and
they would watch movies together. Alyssa smiled at the memory for it
was not a thing to mourn, but a treasure to cherish till her death
came.

The people of the cabin town had survived when everyone over twenty-six
had disappeared in a mysterious fog. They had built a small town out
of their church camp, rescuing what and whom they could. They had
taken comfort in each other and had been dependant upon each other, and
that dependency was still there but it had increased. They were all
a family in a sense that they were close with everyone, they were a
town where everyone knew everyone by name.

Other towns created by children struggling to survive, were discovered,
hidden away from the mass deaths that occurred in the cities. In fact,
Faith had married a boy from another town. The survivors who had lost
many people they cared for, had in effect, survived, created families
and enjoyed life at it's fullest. Life does go on, even when it seems
there is no hope, for there is always hope no matter how faint it may
seem.
