people's hands built this. She stood in the area and dried, changed,
and walked out, completely refreshed. She walked back to her cabin
where she grabbed a comb and began to brush out the tangles in hair and
she flinched as she caught on a snag in her hair. There was a knock on
the door and she wondered who it was.

"Come in," she yelled and inhaled sharply as she ripped a chunk of hair
out. She heard footsteps walking down the hall but no one said hello.
She wondered who would be so rude as to walk in and not state who they
were.

"Hello, who are you?" she yelled and still there was only the steady
steps of the shoes walking down her hall. Suddenly she was worried and
thought of kids going crazy, so she held her brush in a manner such as
a weapon and stood up slowly. She walked quietly to the door and
yanked it open.

A cry of delight escaped her lips and she threw her arms around the neck
of the beloved male standing before her.

"Oh Ben, I missed you! You're back early but it feels as if you've been
away for months," she cried into his shoulder and he squeezed her
tightly to him. She couldn't help the tears of joy that slid down her
face for she loved him that much.

"I feel the same way but upon how I found everything, it looks as if I
have been away for months," he laughed and pulled her away to look at
her face. He gazed at her with a fondness and tenderness in his eyes
that no one else had ever looked upon her with, and she returned the
look towards him.

"Do you have any idea how much I missed you? Of course not, because I
missed you so terribly that I would dream about you at night," she
laughed.

"And you think it was any different with me?" he inquired and ran a hand
through her sopping hair. He pulled her back into his arms and kissed
her gently but with incredible passion. She clung to him as if afraid
that if she let him go, he would vanish forever.

"So, how'd you clear up the accident so quickly?" she wanted to know for
she wanted to know how God had got her love to her so quickly.

"Accident? What accident? Oh yeah the accident," he looked rather
flustered, "It, uh, wasn't as bad as it looked."

"There wasn't an accident was there? Don't even try to lie to me, you
already gave it away! Now, why were you late coming back, why'd you
put me through such agony?" she begged to know and she held his hand
while she studied his face.

"I can't tell you because I want to share it with everyone this evening.
All I can say is someone was very intelligent, and it wasn't me.
Please trust me, I did it for the whole camp, it was nice. So, please,
don't be angry with me," he insisted and his eyes were full of
innocence and she saw no deceit.

"How can I be angry at the man of my heart? I could never will anger
towards you," she smiled and kissed him again. She was in complete
admiration of the man who she held in her arms.

"So, what do you think of our new world?" she inquired, gazing at him,
eager to know his opinion.

"Well, I must admit that I am very impressed. You've changed the world
so much and I know that if it weren't for you, we'd be dead," he stared
into her eyes and she shook her head slowly, as if she were hypnotized
by his bright blue eyes.

"Don't start that again," she shook her head and gently touched his
cheek with palm of her hand. She didn't understand how she could feel
so intensely for this boy who had been placed in her life when she was
young.

"I'm serious," he smiled and kissed her softly on the lips. She kissed
him back then nuzzled her head into the crook of his neck. Just to
feel him near was enough to suffice for her. She loved him completely
and if confused her so much.

"It's through God that we're here," she whispered, her lips brushing his
neck. They just stood there in each other's arms. Then there was a
knock at the door and Alyssa looked up to see Faith standing there.

"Sorry to interrupt your gross, er, lovely reunion, but Kellin wants to
see his brother too," she explained and Ben and Alyssa laughed. Alyssa
gave him one final squeeze before he left her then she grabbed Faith
and dragged her to her bed.

"Oh Faith, I love him so much," she giggled giddily and threw herself
backward onto her bed.

"That's nice," Faith moaned and looked as if she wanted to escape but
Alyssa was to enthralled with her boy to care about Faith's
disinterest.

"I'm so thankful he's back, he is so wonderful," Alyssa rolled onto her
belly and watched her sister roll her eyes, "So, you're still gonna
claim you have no interest in guys?" Faith blushed and walked to the
window. She didn't answer but instead ran her finger across the pane.

"I thought so, is he interested?" she wanted to know and Faith spun
around, her eyes alight with excitement and she nodded her head. She
smiled and her red cheeks glowed with happiness. Alyssa smiled, sat up
and opened her arms. Her baby sister bounced over and they hugged each
other. Faith finally left and Alyssa laid on her bed, her mind
reveling in its ecstasy. She had Ben back and that was all that
mattered.

That evening, the bell rung and the collection of surviving human beings
strolled into the Memorial Hall. The air was of comfort and coolness,
which was a good sign. Alyssa looked at the group and felt pride swell
in her chest. They were going to be okay, because they were working
together and taking care of each other. Ben walked up to the front of
the group and spoke through a megaphone he had got somewhere.

"Hi everyone. I just got back and I must say, I am very impressed. You
all have accomplished an amazing collection of feats that I believe
will make us into a thriving society. The rest of the world is in
shambles, or so it seems. There are cries of distress from every
corner of the world and chaos everywhere you look. Kids are dying
because they cannot or do not know how to survive and they do not have
a place to go such as we do.

That is not the point on why I am talking however, on my drive back here
I picked up a computer genius who hacked into school files. He pulled
up any and all students under 26; we then went through and picked out
people who were useful. We made visits and rounded up an amazing
twenty or so group of learnt people. We have a pastor, two doctors,
engineers, carpenters, plumbers, chefs, seamstresses, veterinarians,
and so on. We also got their tools and anything else, so that's our
contribution. That's all I have to say," he climbed back into the
group and Alyssa walked forward. She took the megaphone from her love
and stood on the stage.

"I've got to agree with Ben, you'll have done a fantastic job that has
saved our lives. I believe we will have a thriving society, look about
you, what are we now? I believe that we will be around twenty, thirty
years from now, watching our children, grandchildren, play in a city
that we created. I wish us all the best of luck," Alyssa made way for
the band, life would go on.
