Remembering... | |||
Memorial Day 200 I read the names of those who died in the war known as Viet Nam. I kept seeing their faces..I'd start to cry.. how can so many not give a damn? Every name is so much more than some guy you never knew... His son, her dad, their brother... her boyfriend, whose eyes were blue. They were just like you or I... (take away the last 30 or 40 years!) We may have had the same hopes and dreams, but, a completely different set of fears. While we worried if we'd have a date for the dance on Saturday night... They worried if they'd make it home.. if they'd make it through the next fire fight. Our world might end if we had to study instead of being seen at some bash... Their world might end with a trip wire.. the last thing they'd see, that bright flash! So, next time your hear someone reading their names on any Memorial Day... Pause for a moment...remember them all! Instead of war, pray for some other way! Tweet
