A poem about letting go of love and getting over it at the same time. | |||
Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story and laugh at my stupidity. Soaks up all the rain. Left behind its humidity. No search parties needed, a voice calls from the sky. The one you seek may have said goodbye, but never doubt his love for you. It's still there in hiding. Just has responsibilities and a sense of providing. ~ Allow your soul to heal, your heart to mend. It may never been seen again. Yet this love won't break or bend. Its forever and always that's true. You were very special to him. Grow into the woman you're supposed to be. Now isn't the time to sink or swim. Don't dwell on the past. Not when the future is so bright. The heart's walls will last. ~ I walk outside to see flowers in bloom. Have to do something. Besides dying in this room. Big breaths of air fill my lungs. Close my eyes and remember another time. See the mountains before me. Them I now know how to climb. Darkness falls away as the sun's ray hits my face. My soul sighs with relief. My body is supercharged. My heart, once again, has belief. ~ With, or without, you I will survive. Life is full of knocks. But it's okay. In this stream I'll walk on the rocks. For there's a hand to protect me. It won't let me slip and will catch me during the falls. Comfort still emerges, even behind strong steel walls. ~ For I have something inside of me. It still beats just like it did a week ago. But don't worry. I promise to take it slow. Your heart I won't break. It's to precious to me. On my word you can stake. ~ Didn't want it to end. Wanted to be with you always. With life we have no choice. We walk different hallways. But know this one thing. Forever and a day, I will love you and I'll never be far away. I gave you my heart and don't want it back. Will live for another time. Will never divide our pact. © August 3, 2009 by Lori Tweet
