A Creative Challenge poem I did to the phrase: "oh how I miss it." | |||
Good Things Come To Those That Wait ~ Oh how I miss it childhood when everything was so carefree. You knew you were loved by a goodnight hug and a gentle kiss on your forehead. Your world was made right by Momma's sweet voice and tender hands. You were Daddy's little princess and Momma's little gem. Oh how I wish to turn back the hands of time. ~ Oh how I miss it adolescence when you knew everything. The world was your oyster and you wanted to suck it dry. You were ready to take on anything with one hand tied behind your back. First kiss, first love. Loss of virginity, gain of maturity. Oh how I wish I knew then what I know now. ~ Oh how I miss it adulthood where you learned the difference between fantasy and reality. You start a family hoping to outrun the past. You lose yourself to take on the labels of parent and spouse. Click here to read the rest of this story (61 more lines)
