poem out of confusion

Eggshells

Walking on eggshells, Trying to hold myself strong, Knowing the day will
come, When I will hold you once more

An eternity has gone by, Since the day I last heard your voice, Saying
the words I need so much, Simple words so true

Growing and changing, Something you need to do, It is a truth I can't
fight, Though it takes you from me

Just a few days, And I have gone through so much, So much pain and so
many tears, All for missing you, my love

When first you said goodbye, A part of me was sure it was forever, But
as I slowly grew calm, I knew it was just for a while

So now I hold myself, Still as possible inside, Not burying my emotions
this time, Just holding them in check

Overcoming demons is hard, But for you I would die, I would fight the
very worst, If it meant it would bring you closer to me

But oh please my love, Try not to be gone too long, I still tremble each
night, And walk those eggshells by day
