Alone, I sit here. Nothing but the sound of faraway music coming from my iPod's speakers fills the silence, and that hardly works against it. Thoughts gather in my mind, jumbling together, each fighting for my attention. Which one first, which is most important? I shall never know. Disconcerted by the sun's unusual glare, I don't know where to look. Anywhere except into it. Anywhere except the base of my problems. If only I could stay away....I find myself sneaking glances, being blinded again and again. Yet never do I learn my lesson. What a stupid little being, I am. I find myself gulping blood, it dripping from my nose. There isn't a clear reason why I am swallowing it, only that I do not like the taste or the feel of it in my throat, thick and clumpy, warm and red. Or even how it can taste red. It just does, it seems. Along with many other things, that shall remain a mystery. Splotches of sunlight show through the trees, illuminating the ground like a spotlight on stage. None of it is spotlighting me, yet I feel caught in the headlights all the same. Neverending confusion, my punishment never stops. I wish it would leave me alone, leave me to stare into the bloodred light in silence. But it's always there, it seems. Taunting me. Laughing at me. I shall never be able to rid of it. Tweet
