My mind it wanders

Along the streets and walkways

Through rivers and torrents of clouds

Playing out thunder, exhibiting lightning

Always running along gravelled pathways

Unsure and hovering along the turnoffs called Decisions

By myself but never alone

I run faster, knowing the paved road is up ahead

My mind it wanders

Into spiraled shells it hides

Jumping off the ledge I fly

Sure I won't fall and so surprised when I do

Spiraling downward I fall

My mind it wanders

Out through the snow

Past the darkness and into the light

Making it onto the paved road at last

At last, where it's free to wander forevermore.
