What it's like to be lost.

Loneliness

I walk alone with only my thoughts, my mind screams for another's voice.
While my heart weeps crystal tears, they stain and tear my immortal
soul. With every step I've taken down this desolate road, the savage
winds that blow across these empty grasslands, robs me of all sense of
warmth and strength. As the tides of time come and go, I fear I will
never find my way back home. The darkness has enveloped me. The sun
does not rise any more. The stars in a moonless night, my only guiding
lights. Heaven is waiting, or so I've been told. If this is the road,
I don't want to go. The pain is so great that I've been made to travel
in these lands, I don't know how much longer I'll be able to stand. As
time slides, memories fade, without new ones to take their place.
Leaving a treacherous void. The emptiness of everything is slowly
devouring my soul. This is my fate. Until the day mercy is shown, I
will walk this road alone. Searching for a dock by the river. Maybe
the boatman of old will carry me home.
