This one turned on me towards the middle. I wanted one thing, it wanted another. In the end, the poem won out. Its all about love. | |||
Sun Worshiper ~ Oh the shame, the burn, of being scorched by your flame. I love to spend the day worshiping your glory basking in your glowing ray. Feel alive, grown red in the face, know I'll survive. ~ Another day, another dollar. Rain go away. Leave me parched as a desert. My back arched, my limbs relaxed. Stress of life gone, and my soul untaxed. ~ At your altar, I leave it all. No reason to falter. Questions asked been answered. It's been unmasked. Life is okay and boring, “glamorous” again. I'm finished exploring. I idolized and adored you. It was proven very untrue. ~ Sun, oh mighty sun, why must you shine one day only to leave me undone? Bring back the rain. Love is overrated and only leads to pain. © March 3, 2008 by Lori Tweet
