A woman wants a tarnished knight instead of one in shining armor.

Tarnished Knight

~

Tarnished knight,

tarnished knight,

where fore art thou,

my beautiful knight.

No, Shakespeare wouldn't be proud.

Probably turning over in his grave.

This my heart cries out loud.

Once again, I am love's slave.

~

Tarnished knight,

tarnished knight

where fore art thou,

my adoring knight.

I don't want the dream

Of a knight in shining armor.

Men like that make me scream.

Too much of a charmer.

~

Tarnished knight,

tarnished knight,

where fore art thou,

my scarred knight.

My knight has fought love's battles.

Scarred by Cupid's arrow,

his heart rattles.

His pain is felt to the marrow.

~

Tarnished knight,

tarnished knight,

where fore art thou,

my lonely knight.

Don't need ribbons and bows,

or fancy dresses and roses.

No diamonds dripping to my toes,

or any indecent proposes.

~
