A satire of almost everything I could think of. | |||
Watching Television Hello. How are you? I don't know how that came to be the opening of a telephone conversation, but there it is. Like women having only one name anymore - you yell,”Betty,” and four people answer, “What do you want?” Or women being named after pleasant months (April, May, or June, or Spring), or attributes (Merry, Charity, or Melody). I guess it just worked out that way. Last night was a dark and stormy night. I was half-dozing while watching my favorite television program (something to do with singing zebras who solve crimes). Suddenly I heard clanking and there was a rather elderly gentleman standing in front of my television. I didn't hear him come in, and there was no icy draft announcing that the door had been opened. “Ebenezer Scrooge!” he demanded. “No. Don Oman.” He consulted a small scrap of paper, muttered, “Damn. Wrong address,” and stalked out the door without bothering to open it. I immediately got rid of all my cooking wine, Sherry. Tweet
