The title says it all, but the category may leave you wondering why I used this one. Even though it's an editorial, there's so much truth in it. 9/11 should never be categorized! But I have to put it somewhere. | |||
September 11, 2007-Six Years Later By: Lori I will tell you now is WILL NOT be like other tributes to 9/11. I'm going to be open and honest, not that anyone else hasn't been. I'm going to express MY thoughts and feelings. If you think you may be offended, or if you think you may get ticked, you see the red “X” at the top of the page? That's the button to click on NOW! I'm not going to hem-haw around this issue. I'm going to tell it like it is. I'm not going to sugar-coat it. I don't think that does the person/s who died any good. I'm going to respect them and show what, in my opinion, really came from 9/11. First things first though, some facts you may not be aware of. Total Deaths All 9/11 Attacks 3,030 *Total Deaths WTC 9/11 Attack 2,801 Total Injured All 9/11 Attacks 2,337 Total Injured WTC 9/11 Attack 2,261 Total Deaths 9/11 Attack The Pentagon (Ground) 124 Firefighter Deaths WTC 9/11 Attack 343 Total Injured 9/11 Attack The Pentagon 76 Police Deaths WTC 9/11 Attack 75 American Airlines Flight 77 The Pentagon 64 American Airlines Flight 11 WTC North Tower 92 United Airlines Flight 93 Shanksville, PA 40 United Airlines Flight 175 WTC South Tower 65 *In December 2002 the Total Deaths from the WTC Attack was revised to 2,792. Did I blow it up big enough for you? Can you see what happened? Do you feel our pain? How about our shame? What about our agony? Can you see our stupidity? Yes I said STUPIDITY! The powers in charge knew it could happen and they ignored it, hence the stupidity. We had, and have, a President who is making/made his own agenda for this tragedy. He went after the wrong man. He had us believing this man, who I'm not going to give the respect of saying his name, had weapons of mass destruction. When Bush found out that he didn't his comment was oh well he would have made them sooner or later. Now granted those weren't his exact words, but that is what I heard. Here is what he said the day, or the day after, it happened. "I will not forget the wound to our country and those who inflicted it. I will not yield, I will not rest, I will not relent in waging this struggle for freedom and security for the American people." In my opinion he has forgotten who inflicted this wound upon our souls.
