Click here to read the first 75 lines of the story “Meow,” Opie looked from the table top at Buddy on his perch, “why do you always bother me? Our mommy and daddy aren't home and I'm not hurting anything.” “Squawk..., squawk,” Buddy replied from his perch, “It's my nature kitty-kitty, after all I am a cockatiel. And you're just a dumb kitty-kitty.” Opie had taken all he could. He was nearly a full grown cat now. He jumped down from the table and ran over to the bottom of Buddy's perch. Then with one quick motion he jumped up through the air. “Squawk! Squawk!” buddy yelled as his feathers were flying everywhere. Squawk, squawk! Opie let go..., let me go.” Opie let go but not before he had really ruffled Buddy's feathers good. Buddy began to straighten his feathers as he relaxed again on his perch. “Squawk, squawk,” Buddy didn't sound quite so snooty now, “why did you do that Opie?” “Meow,” Opie looked up at Buddy on the perch that didn't look quite so high anymore, “it's my nature Buddy. After all I am a cat.” Tweet
