My good old dismembered hand One night as I was heading home from a friends house after a night of wild partying, I realized I was walking down Prospect Ave. This would not have upset me as much, had I not remembered what had been occurring there since a couple of months back. Going straight across the Ave. ran two 2 way tracks that were scheduled to be removed sometime early next month. The tracks had almost been removed a few times before, but every time anyone even mentioned their removal, strange things would happen. The most recent was finding mutilated bodies along the tracks. The bodies looked as if they were hit by a train while lying perfectly still. The most bizarre thing about the occurrences was that the tracks were abandoned. No train had crossed through those tracks in years. Remembering all of this, I decided to pick up my pace. As soon as I did this the wind speeded up as if taunting me. I walked even faster. Then the wind began to howl. I heard a distant whisper, like the rustling of leaves. By now I was trotting my way closer and closer to the tracks. The wind howled even louder; Like an almost human scream. At this I began to run full speed toward the tracks. I would have to cross them to reach home. I always hated having to do this. The howl turned again to a whisper. It said ¨danger¨. The lights started to flash. I almost screamed at the sound of an oncoming train. Of course I knew this was not possible. I took a run for the other side. I was almost there when all of a sudden I tripped! I found my body motionless. As much as I tried I just couldn't get up. This time I heard a real scream! It was as clear as the moon itself. There was a train coming! I couldn't believe my eyes. It was about to reach me when I felt a hard tug on my legs. Someone was dragging me off the tracks. I was alive! I had already given up hope, and yet here I was! I turned to thank whoever had saved me, but to my surprise, I was the only living soul on the street. No one was out for miles around. It suddenly got quiet. Dead quiet. I guess it had been the shock of almost being hit by a train why I hadn't noticed. I felt a warm wetness around the left side of my jacket and my pants. I felt a sharp pain coursing all through my left arm. Still I paid no mind. I turned around to go home certain I was free of danger; just in time to see what was on the tracks!
