A poem about the life of a teenage mother. | |||
A little baby of 3 weeks Gives a startled cry The teenage mother asks herself Why, Me, Why? She was at a party With a lot of her new friends. She didn't know that was the night That her childhood would end. He told her that he loved her. He said he was here to stay. She believed his words so sweet. She gave her virginity away. He never spoke another word. He left her side within a week. She soon found out about the baby. She tried to tell him with words so meek "I know it's yours." She said "You were the only one." "Your a whore. We all know." He said the words. She was shunned. She was all alone. She didn't know what to do. She couldn't blame him. It was her own fault, she knew. She told her parents. They cried with her. They asked a lot of questions. She said she wasnt sure. Baby Angeline was born On a cold November day. She looked at her baby's little hands She didnt know what to say. She is all alone with This baby, born from lies But there are still nights she sits alone She sits alone, and cries. Tweet
