It's late in the night when the writer leaves the matrimonial bed...to say what must be said | |||
The Study Pirate © Kelly_Shaw2001 At four in the morning loves drowsiness still lasts. I come here to say farewell to the world of reality, all its pain, its sordid terror, and breathe a new world onto the page. This where I come to turn silence into words, make the whirling world stand still. Now, writing late into the night, you have given rise to a passion even you do not know. Yes, a man, a pirate of old, a torn and weary traveler of the high seas sailing through calm swells toward a crimson sunset not caring where his journey will end. My mind is in torment, the creativity, and the heartbreak that is so little in the eons of time. What we, each of us, give to history cannot be judged by its value, but by what we give back. The pirate will once again polish old bones before raising them in the rigging as a warning to those who treasure only gold, hurling himself at the world in a defiant storm of laughter and crying one last time...Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Sleep maiden of dreams, for I sit here to make them real, to stitch them and sew them into your heart forever. When I'm not writing I'm less. I sense the frustration. I feel the despair. I have no answers. I write. It is a painful thing to live with. A writer is a painful person to be with. Tweet
