A reflected theme of the author Kathyg's "A Penny For Your Thoughts." Which you should read first and foremost.

"Cash My Thoughts!"

Everything we do has its individual stake. When we are silent we should
be heard. When we are heard, we shouldn't have been listened to.
Though the tongue is only a small part of the body it does great
damage. The tongue is a "fire" the Great Book teaches us. "It
corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire,
and is itself set on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds,
reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed
by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of
deadly poison. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with
it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same
mouth come praise and cursing." (James 3:5 - 10).

Don't get me wrong, the tongue has the potential to do good as well as
harm. Though reckless words pierce like a sword, the tongue of the
wise brings healing. (Proverbs 12:18). So basically, sinners spit
words of ashes, while wise men breath words to endure forever. Why
speak when all of your words will fall to the ground on the account of
lies? A lie does not have to insult or offend to be further from the
truth. It merely is anything apart from honesty. Whether it be to
justify an action, or false self imagery. See, so silence sometimes is
in the best interest of our matters.
