Sometimes when you least suspect it, and think you least need it, that 'next' love appears. | |||
In A Moment Of Need “I'm so sorry,” Michael spoke apologetically. Michael had always had the ability to make people smile. His friendly appearance and demeanor seemed to relax anyone who noticed him although physical stature would warrant just the opposite. His blondish hair, blue eyes, and light complexion gave him that boy-next-door look that was just wasn't threatening to anyone. “I didn't mean to distract your thoughts.” Michael finished his sentence as he leaned down closer to the pretty young woman sitting at the table in the food court of the mall he'd been walking through. “That's OK,” Julie realized she had actually smiled back when this young man had smiled previously, and that it had felt nice. So she smiled up at him once more before continuing, “I needed a smile anyway.” “Well,” Michael nodded his head back and forth a couple of times as he spoke, “it wasn't right of me to enter your space. You were obviously in deep thought.” “Too deep!” Julie nodded as well, as though the movement was as contagious as a yawn. “Maybe you came along to rescue me from my problems.” Julie considered this last statement, then felt she should add, “and I sure don't want to thank you by depressing you with them.” Julie had been looking into Michael's dark blue eyes between those long blond eyelashes as they spoke. As she continued to watch Michael she wondered just how in the world she could be attracted to another man so quickly after losing one. “It was seventy cents.” Michael spoke matter-of-factly as he set the cup down in front of Julie, pulled out the chair and sat down across from her. “Oh.” Julie blushed a little bit as she reached for her purse and began to dig through it for some change. “Seventy thoughts,” Michael reached across the small round table and placed his strong hand gently over her small, delicate, hand, which was Click here to read the rest of this story (150 more lines)
