Chapter 2 - 3 | |||
Chapter 2 ~The ringing of a telephone~ “Hello?” “Hey what's up?” “Hey! John how's it going? I was thinking that you wouldn't call.” “Nah, how can you even think that? I don't know any one who wouldn't call you!” Sarah giggled, “Yeah, sure. So.....what are you doing?” “Nothing much, want to go out tonight?” “Oh....John I can't, I have to do some work at the store with Kim, but what about tomorrow night?” “Sure, perfect! But I get to pick the restaurant.“ “Oh, ok.” “Dress nicely.” “Alright tomorrow pick me up at my house at 8:30 p.m.” “Ok I'll see you then!” She hung up the phone and got ready to go to the store to help Kim with inventory. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When it was 8:35 John came and picked up Sarah. He walked to the duplex that Sarah and her best friend Kim shared. Surprisingly, he felt pretty relaxed. It was only their second date and he already knew it was going to go very smoothly. He knocked on the door twice. Without a moment's hesitation, she opened it and greeted John. She seemed to always show a great sense of fashion. Tonight, she was drop dead gorgeous. She had on a slinky black dress that went to the middle of her thighs. It had a deep v-neck revealing a little cleavage. It fit her nicely. She did dress nicely, just like I'd asked. He walked her to his car and opened the door for her, trying to be suave. He sat down behind the steering wheel and turned the ignition on. His house was about thirty miles from her's and so they made with a little small talk. “So what place did you pick to go to?” asked Sarah, wondering if she had overdressed. John had on what looked like a new pair of jeans and a nicely pressed button up shirt. “I was thinking my house." He said. Glancing over at her. “Your house? I didn't know you knew how to cook. I‘ve yet to meet a man who is a great cook. The extent of cooking specialties of the men I know are limited to hamburgers and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.” She exclaimed, impressed. “Just call me Chief Le' John. I can make a mean PP&J, but I have a fair knowledge of foreign cooking.” He said with a little modesty. He had taken classes at a local center for cooking. The only reason he went was to meet a woman, though with no such luck apparently. “Ok Chief Le' John.” She said giggling. Completely impressed with his skills. Once they got to his house he gave her a summarized tour of his house and then showed her to the den and told her to make herself comfortable. “What's on the menu tonight?” asked Sarah, from her comfy spot on the couch.
