Chapter 3 Cadhla begins to find love

Chapter 3 When her mom came home late that evening, she was very
fatigued and she was very angry with Cadhla. The principal had called
her cell phone, to tell her that her daughter had ran from the school.
She walked into Cadhla's room, who was sitting on the window seat
staring at the moon, she must have been in deep thought. She sat down
next to her daughter, and just stared at her in wonderment.

“ Cad your principal called my cell, and told me that you ran away. He
also said that you are suspended for three days.”

Looking away from her mother, she just stared up at the beautiful full
moon, and how peaceful it looked, shining so brightly with stars
crowded around it. She then nodded slightly at her remark, but didn't
say a word.

“ Honey, why would you run away from school? You love school, that's
what you said, it keeps you busy.”

“ Mom it's nothing, this guy was just annoying me that's all.”

“ You ran away, because some guy got on your nerves?! That's not the
girl I raised, are you sure your okay? You can tell me anything.”

Cadhla was getting so irritated with her, she sighed, and walked over to
her bed, and just threw herself onto it. She was now, staring up at her
ceiling, at the glow in the dark stars, through the elegant purple
mosquito net that surrounded her bed. Her mom just stood at the foot of
her bed, and just looked down at the floor.

“ Mom.” Cadhla said out of no where, “ Maybe I'm not the little girl
anymore that you raised. There are a lot of things that I don't tell
you, because I handle them myself. I just need you to trust me that
whenever I get like this that you won't jump the gun.” Standing there,
she pulled back the net, and sat on the edge of the bed, not looking at
her daughter, but at the floor.

“ I know, that the divorce wasn't something you wanted Cad, but it
wasn't something I wanted either. Your father and I just grew apart,
and we had to think what was best for you and Sara, we are much better
people when we aren't together. However, you used to be able to tell me
things, and I know that you aren't a little girl anymore. So, I am
gonna trust you, but whenever you need me honey, I'll be here.” Letting
that sink in, her mom, stood up, and slowly closed the door behind her.

Cadhla then walked over to the window seat, and opened the window.
Peering out at the rolling hills, and the little houses beyond them.
She lost her train of thought, looking outside, she saw all of the
beautiful fire flies. She remembered, when she was little how much she
loved to catch them and put them in a jar, amazed at their vibrant
glow. After peeking at them through the glass jar, she opened the lid
and watched them fly away. Then, she remembered a time when she was
eight years old, and her parents had just bought a wishing well to put
in their backyard. She had gone out there, with a penny in her hand,
grasping it tightly. She remembered looking deep down in it, she then
closed her eyes, and whispered the wish, that she hope would be
granted. Still, to this day, she remembered the very words she said
that clear sunny day.

“ I wish, that I'll get a prince someday, that I will be just like
Cinderella, live in a castle and wear pretty dresses for the rest of my
life. Have pretty ponies, and get to wear glass slippers and makeup.”

Then her bright green eyes, watched as she let the coin drop from her
tiny hand. She watched as the coin shined and the water reflected in
the morning light. She remembered that time, when she didn't worry
about anything, the time when she could just have fun and not try to
impress people. Those days were gone, out like a light, only distant
memories that she had locked up. She then came back to the present, and
gazed up at the stars. They were so different, so peaceful, they helped
her forget her troubles. Somehow, when she looked up at the night sky,
her problems didn't seem that important. She had made her mind up years
before that she wanted to be an astronomer, the universe always amazed
her. She would stare up at the sky, and her mind would slip away, into
wonderment and serenity. She always asked herself, what would it be
