A fun take on the frustrations of writing.

If only I could find the words,

Those stinking, steaming oral turds,

Grant me just alliteration,

End my verbal constipation.

Speak not of matters metaphoric,

Tenses present and historic,

Let alone a noble theme,

To satisfy the rhyming scheme.

Where is the sharp satirical,

The sonnet sweet and lyrical?

The footfalls of iambic feet,

Tapping out a rhythmic beat.

I find that I have lost the skill,

To revel in the writer’s thrill,

It’s time that I put down the pen,

You will not hear from me again.
