Poem about someone going for a swim in the river.

The River

The cries of the lost souls,

Echo through the wind.

The cool breeze,

Gushing, through the stillness.

Standing with bare feet,

On the cold, wet jetty.

Shivering in the cold mist.

Plunging headfirst into cold silk.

Flowing across my body

Melting into my skin.

Reaching the top.

Breaking the surface like a dolphin,

Jumping into the sunlight.

Running across the wooden planks,

Reaching for the soggy towel,

Rushing home for a hot chocolate.
