~The Wet Road~ (for Juanita) * * * ` The puddles in the wet road are full of stars. They are reflected in her eyes. To see a heaven while looking down, One must see things as they are: a wet road that is full of stars, Or merely a wet road. Juanita sees the stars in the of puddles of the wet road. They shine in her eyes, for she is looking down to see a heaven rise from the ground. A brown wind blows across last year’s leaves. One must see things as they are: a wet road that is full of stars, or merely a wet road. In the morning there are blue flowers in the puddles of the wet road. Blue flowers and white, fluffy clouds that are in heaven by the side of the road. Jaunita listens to the heralds of spring: it is not what is, but what seems: a wet road full of stars, or merely dreams. ~Will Tweet
