A not entirely original poem about how dreams can tell you about yourself. | |||
The Truth of Dreams Now hear! Your dreams reveal truly Your hidden, darkest thoughts unruly. Secrets held, so wisely kept, Were brought to surface as you slept. Do you remember? Pictures clear Of all your heart's truth, held so near, Clasped to body, clasped to breast, The secrets you kept hidden best. The tighter held, the more revealed, More loved by night, the more concealed. If worshipped close as your possession, It will become nightime's confession. In shame held as something hidden, To your waking thoughts forbidden, Will come to sleeping, soon or late, Impulses of love or hate. No man knows his soul so nearly As he who sees all his dreams clearly. To see all dreams is gift not had. The truth of dreams would drive men mad. Tweet
