For Sandy.

The Ride For Sandy

You stand beside me, frightened. Pointing up at the multicolored lights.
I tell you... It will be fine, don't worry, We will come down. The
night smells of sweetness, Fragrant with alluring aromas. A soft summer
breeze runs fingers through your hair. The multicolored lights rain
into your eyes. The line is moving forward now. Your hand slides
timidly into mine. Our shoulders touch,so lightly,so electric. The
barkers bark their endless pitch, Wooden bottles topple, children
scream. The multicolored lights call our name. Under a lidless eye of
moon, we climb aboard. You shiver--I hold you tight. And leave Earth,
far behind.
