a poem of a dream that turned out to be much too real | |||
A Final Bow The cold feel of steel against my brow, My heart's beating faster now. I hear a voice beside me say, "Get ready to say goodbye now, And give the world a final bow." I could almost hear the trigger being squeezed, And for some reason, my tensions eased. With the blast, my eyes shot open. It was all a dream, I was hopin'. At first, I was sure it had all been dreamed, But it was proved not to be what it had seemed. I heard the sound beside my bed, And the cold feel of steel against my head. My dream was suddenly much too real, This guy really planned to kill. And again, I heard the voice beside me say, "Get ready to say goodbye now, And give the world a final bow." Tweet
