Time and time again, I fall to the floor, pushed down by my own expectations.Raised up with false confidence. The darkness of life rushing in, And the light draining out I don't know me I keep myself wrapped tight, the layers of lies, made up like a doll. To hide the child beneath. Look in the mirror, a slap in the face. Physical rejection yet again. The need for love, warmth. To melt the ice in my chest, that I deny is there. Clogging my perception of the good, the true and the beautiful. spitting out words on paper, like blood from a wound, a morbid picture of life, Intertwined in my senses. Cutting off the color vision, reducing the world to black and white. If only it were that simple to avoid the shades of gray. Tweet
