This is what I am

I am a prisoner.

No, I don't walk around in pinstriped clothes.

Nor am I robbed of my individuality for the benefit of humanity.

I am captivated in the disbelief of myself.

The way I shoot myself down before I even have the chance or give a
care.

I hold myself back in a cellblock away from truth and triumphant
beginnings.

Mocking my every move with the thought of achievement.

Contradicting what I'm all about by not even trying.

I am imprisoned by my fear of success, what others think, the future.

My cellmate is opinions, fate, and memories.

We mark away the days living in the past - dreaming of days long gone
and risks taken only to be failed.

We while away the hours doing nothing.

Until one day the guard comes to free us.

And hope gives us the wings to carry ourselves above and beyond what
others can see.

Into our deep passions and far off dreams we will travel.

And together Hope, Truth, Humanity, Success and I will live.

Together - We can and will make it.

No longer prisoners - we shall be free of our own locks and chains,

And together we will become ONE.
