What calls to you in the middle of the night

When the darkness calls

I answer

The the wind blows

I hear its cries

The shadows speak

With words of wisdom

Giving direction

Showing signs

Embraced by nothing

Yet feeling its touch

Comforted by words

In the mists of silence

The darkness calls

I answer

Guided by shadows

I know my way

Secrets I keep

All the things I hide

Living in denial

Covered in lies

From within my soul

I feel its pull

Calmed and comforted

I know the darkness knows
