Its the first issue in a series of short stories. Its about magic, among other things. Basically, the story of the last Merlin descendant, in present time, who needs to save the world.

George Marx was an ordinary, 15yr old. He had no special powers of
abilities. He could'nt read the future, or see through walls. Or so he
thought. What George did not know was that he was no ordinary 15year
old. He was chosen a long time ago to change the world. “I'm gonna be
late, I'm definetly gonna be late” George told himself. He overslept on
one of the most important days of the year, for him at least. His own
birthday. And today would be a special birthday because today would be
the day he would turn 15!! He had been waiting for this day as long as
he could remember and his entire family was throwing a “surprise” party
for him. He had found out about it last week, when he had “overheard”
his mom talkin on the phone with his grandma, Rose Marx. (She was very
special to Mark, she was the only one in the family he could talk to as
not only a family member, but also as a friend) “Stupid, cheap, alarm
clock!!” he yelled to himself. No time for dwadling, he had a party to
catch. He hurried up with his clothes and ran downstairs to meet his
parents. There were'nt his actual parents, they were his adopted
parents. He loved them but they never really talked to him. He felt so
apart from his family, like a black sheep in a sense. Living with a
white family, and being the only on who was Puerto Rican was hard. Ever
since his parents died in an airplane crash 14yrs ago, he had to scrub,
and work hard to live. Survial was constantly in his life. Where to
sleep, what to eat, how to stay safe was constantly edging at his mind.
He lived off the streets, on and off, for 6yrs. At the tender age of
two, he was already living in a foster home. But when they decided he
was'nt cute enough for the rich life style, they put him away in
another foster home. Then, at around 7, he ran far and hard, away from
his foster home. The foster home in which the “mother” did unspeakable
things to him.

One day, he ended up in a hospital. Not knowing how or why he was there.
The nurse looking after him, told him he had been mugged and beat. He
remembered arguing with her that “why would anyone mug me? I have
nothing for them” She replied “Are you sure dear? Maybe a locket of
some sort, because you have a plain chain around your neck” When he
finally remembered about the locket he always wore around his neck, he
cried hysterically, for hours on end. That was the only thing he had
left of his parents. They gave it to him his first birthday. Up to this
very day, he could never find it.

That very day, his evil foster mother found him again, and once again
took him home. She kept him for another 6yrs. Every few months he would
run away, only to find that she would always find him. Then one day,
when she was doing the horrible things that cant be spoken, he pushed
her. And he pushed her hard. She fell over the coffee table and banged
her head on the chinese cabinet, instantly fracturing her skull,
killing her. As he watched the blood creep down her neck, he was filled
with a sense of relief, only to be quickly replaced with fear and
grief, for what he had done. He was ashamed at himself, horrified. He
fell down upon his knees and prayed to God that he would forgive him.
He never meant to kill her...he just wanted it to stop. A heavy
deppression settled over him. A deppression so deep that he himself
could not cry. He screamed at himself “Whats so wrong with me!! I just
killed a person and I cant even cry!!” Angry at his useless self-pity,
he packed his small belongings and ran outside, not looking at where he
was going. The moment he opened the door he slammed into a strong built
man. He looked up and to his horror, he realized that it was a police
officer. Right there and then, like a little boy, he cried and wept to
the police officer, spilling everything about what happened. He was led
away to be temporarly held in a jail cell. There he waited,
approxiametly 3 wks, until his court hearing.

Since he had no guardian, and had no money, the court offered him a
nice, young, kind lawyer, who defended him with a heated passion. She
had found other orphans like himself, and asked them to be witnesses.
They told the court what she had done to them when they were George's
age. The court was shocked at this evidence and all the witnesses told
the same thing. When the judge asked George if this was true, and
George meekly replied yes, the judge automatically proclaimed him free.
He was an instant celebrity. The newspapers called him the “Oliver
Twist of the 21st century”. Little did he know while he was getting all
this attention, that the same lawyer that defended him was right now
going through the legal system to adopt him.

The same day that George was set free, the lawyer adopted him. That same
lawyer was the one sitting the breakfast table, right now, on his 15th
