Memories last a lifetime, and take us back to days when we were young and carefree! | |||
Things That I've Loved by J P St. Jullian There are things I've loved since I was little, A pocket of my mom's good peanut brittle, Morning dew sparkling on my window pane, Sliding down grassy knolls in the pouring rain. To see flowers blooming in cloudy weather, The smell in our barn, the odor of old leather. The smell of fresh plowed dirt and fields of tall corn, Where I sometimes played on a cool summer morn. A simple country road passing hay fields and old mows, The sweet sound of Mockingbirds and the cawing of Crows. Fence lines around fields with stiles for stepping over, The beauty of wild flowers, green grass and red clover. The night owls and whipoorwills singing lullabies so true, And my mom's breakfast table dressed in calico and blue. Finally, in the distance stands the church with its high steeple, And of course my faithful dog, but most of all, friendly people. Tweet
