A Fairy For Harry by J P St. Jullian When I was little and we were poor A rich kid named Harry lived next door. He was always well dressed but kind of fat, With shiny black shoes and a round black hat. Harry once told me over the back garden wall That he didn't believe in fairies at all! I knocked off his hat (his hair was so frilly); Because he said he thought fairies were silly. Then he showed me a watch of his very own; And his ring with a facing of china and bone, I only had a slingshot, an old home-made thing, But I traded with Harry for his bone china ring! A pretty neat kid, Harry turned out to be, But one thing about him always puzzled me. It seemed rather sad that this kid named Harry, Had never in his whole life, ever seen a fairy. Tweet
