Remembering Autumn | |||
Autumn. A chill in the air tells you so. A change. A feeling that something wonderful is coming. Mother Earth puts on her show with bright colors that dress the landscape and she is not vain, for she wears this every year. Mother Earth humbles the sun, but is embraced when it is no longer shy. She needs the sun to shimmer on the whirly leaves; a warning for colder days to come. On early morning days, the sun will hold the frost on the still, stiff grass and bathe it with icy gems . Then her autumn moon will cast a shimmer in the dark as the dusty frost lay silent, daring you to choose which is best. Autumn trips an innate impulse for the change. Father prepares the house for warmth, cutting wood for the fireplace. Mother hunts for warm clothes to overdress in and children gathering colorful mountains to jump in. The air is filled with laughter and cheer as Autumn kicks off the season. Families and friends gather together to reflect and give thanks, for it is a time for celebrations and festivities that will continue to the end of the year. Yes, Autumn tells us so. The season is a welcome transformation that is embraced with warmth and vitality. We know this beauty will end and in its place, another splendid holiday awaits. Tweet
