A poem about friendship. | |||
We are as different as oil and water, But we are not afraid of one another. I am told to hate, and yet I love, Although my love is forbidden. We are hardly from the same hemisphere. We are of religions that nobody understands As anything but enemies, And yet we are like brothers. We have high foreheads and ill mothers. We have lived our lives in the trenches. We share friends and foes and goals, And a friendship as strong as cement. Although we are so different, It is only our parallels that matter. To voice my emotions is my only wish, But it is as forbidden as my love itself. People would ask why, Did I not have enough to love? True, people have families, Lovers and causes. They may have enough to love, But I am not content. A friend is also to be loved. I love my family, My lovers and my causes. But also, I love you. Tweet
