the need to be loved enough

as i gaze at ruby sunset

melting sun ablaze

in its beauty

fighting, dying, again

disappears into oblivion

forgotten

as all old things are

the mysts of the night

rise quickly

obscuring from view

all points of reference

lost

in circles, cycles

oh, that the sun

would fight and win

just once

and reclaim its day

it’s rightful place

aloft

and shining bright

then would the world

be different, indeed

alive in love

recapturing spirit

the day longs to be claimed and

waits

alone and dark
