written late April 2016 for my son Houston following his Dad's death on April 23, 2016

Heaven's got a baseball diamond

Where no one's keeping score

A pitcher's mound now is his home

Beyond the golden door

Now he's where he dreamt to be

His throws are lightning fast

Never saw the ball leave his hand

Heaven's found it's pitcher, finally at last

A perfect game he'll always throw

In the promised land

For heaven has a baseball diamond

On the mound he proudly stands

No outfield does he have

It's just him

Angels fly in baseball

All games for him to win

Kids were his to coach

They grabbed him at his knees

Starry-eyed beyond reproach

Baseball passion he taught to me

Angels shine in baseball

No matter where they play

We will play the game again

One sunny heavens day
