Poem for my Dad written 6-20-2010

When I was little

He chased the boogie man away

So I could slumber

And awake to a brighter day

Sometimes he called me "Punkin"

Other times just "Jody Ann"

To Daddy I was so special

To me, my Dad was grand

Painful it is today

For Daddy's gone away

Heaven holds him now

These tears I'll keep at bay

This "owie" Daddy can't kiss

His "Number 1 daughter" I'll always be

So I'll just sign this "Punkin"

My Daddy knows it's from me
