This is a persuasive essay I wrote for English which many people found amusing (even my Republican Eng. teacher). | |||
Once upon a time, there was a governor of Texas. He decided that he would run for president of the United States of America, against the vice-president of the nation, and a couple of others who did not stand a chance. First, it became known that he had been an alcoholic, and would not confess whether or not he had ever taken any illegal substances. Also revealed was that he had at one time owned an oil company, which failed, and that he had gotten into a rut, and was helped out with (financial) aid from his father’s friends. Please note that this man’s father was at one time the president of the country. Now then, people considered voting for the governor, but “fuzzy math” and early bed times soon were to get in his way. Then unions sent out reports about how this man (lets call him George) botched up Texas. For example, George decided that children should not be given health care, while oil well owners should receive tax cuts. George also thought that teacher’s retirement funds needed to be cut by four hundred million dollars so that he could provide the wealthy with a tax cut. However, the vice-president, named Al, thought more about the people than his own pocket. He was all for most of the campaigns that George was against. This made the citizens of America happy. Tweet
